From what I've heard/seen, the campaign mode is a load of shite. It's really fantasy.

It's a shame. Ever since COD2, Call of Duty has become unrealistic and ghey. At least COD2 was factual.

Campaign is never really great though. Their fan focus is on multiplayer which is great.

If they made a COD set in the First World War, I'd be very happy. No idea why game developers forget WWI when they make a game. Obviously all the obese pre-teens in America will cry if they went from fantasy future warfare back to 1914. But I reckon it would be boss.

CoD 4's story was quite good. But from then on it got shit.. Unfortunately when you're making up your own war it's impossible not to get carried away. Going back to WW1 will be a step back in terms of what you can do. The multiplayer won't be the same because there's nowhere near as many options back in those days. You'll be stuck with a gun and a few grenades, end of. People and the developers have seen enough of WW1 & 2 and want to move onto where they can put their own ideas and creativity into the game.

Anyone getting the Hardened edition or already pre-order it? I forgot to preorder so it's sold out everywhere. I called a few places though and they are getting a few in store. I'll be heading to my local Target in the morning on November 8.

MW2 campaign was outstanding. It was like watching a movie, I was horrified when we killed the British guy after the log cabin mission.

Can't wait to play this one, getting it first day.

On the issues of game settings, modern warfare will be the biggest seller as usual. But I loved World at War, that game was outstanding online.

World At War was amazing when released.

But if you go back to play it.... lol. Feels strange and crappish.

It's modern.......it has to be fictional. I doubt they would be allowed to do a factual campaign on recent wars.....too much legal opposition.

It's unrealistic, maybe......but if it wasn't it would be pretty shitty.

Probably because the Modern Warfare games have had better reviews and are more popular. Wtf would they do with a WW1 game???? Camp in a trench all day maps/campaign?

Meh, I won't like CoD whenever it is based.....the problem is the gameplay not the story. I will only play MW3 for the campaign (I won't even buy it, I'll just play my brother's 360 version)

Oh good, i have thought its been 11th all this time Very Happy

I'd get it on Release, its not going to be much cheaper at Christmas, maybe dropped by £10 and im sure it will be worth it.

Not really about the price drop, just the fact I don't want to spend so much money around one period on games.. and I'm sure I could get it for Christmas which would save me buying it.

The First World War wasn't just sitting in a trench all day.

Besides, they can't go back and do one now. But they probably should have. Call of Duty 3 was shite. They should have done it then.
